Methanol is primarily used as an industrial solvent to help create inks, resins, adhesives, and dyes. It is also used as a solvent in the manufacture of important pharmaceutical ingredients and products such as cholesterol, streptomycin, vitamins and hormones.

2-Ethyl hexanol is an 8-carbon higher alcohol species. It is used to make the vinyl chloride plasticizer, bis(2-ethyl hexyl) phthalate. It is also used to make 2-ethyl hexyl acrylate for adhesives and paints.

ETHANOL (All Grades)

Ethanol is used in the manufacture of drugs, plastics, lacquers, polishes, plasticizers, and cosmetics. Ethanol is used in medicine as a topical antiinfective, and as an antidote for ethylene glycol or methanol overdose.

Isobutanol is used as a raw material for coating resins, Isobutyl acrylate, isobutyl acetate, isobutyl methacrylate, and paint thinners. On the other hand, it is widely used as a solvent because many organic materials are soluble in it.

Isopropyl alcohol is mixed with water for use as a rubbing-alcohol antiseptic. It is also used in aftershave lotions, hand lotions, and other cosmetics. In industry it is used as an inexpensive solvent for cosmetics, drugs, shellacs, and gums, as well as for denaturing ethanol (ethyl alcohol).

1-Butanol can be used as a chemical intermediate to create other chemicals (e.g., esters, n-butyl acetate, and amino resins); alternatively, it can be used as a solvent in the creation of consumer products. N-butanol is used as a solvent for paints, coatings, varnishes, fats, oils, waxes, rubber, and plasticizers.

1-Propanol is used as a solvent in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, polishes, dental lotions, coatings, lacquers, printing inks, natural gums, pigments, intermediates, dye solutions, antifreeze, fuel additives, paint additives and de-greasing fluids.
